Mentor, when we thought about this word, first question raise in our mind is, who is our first mentor ? Our first mentor is mother! right she is our first mentor, she taught you every single thing in our childhood like eating, sleeping , talking, walking, playing etc... So our first mentor is Mother.
Then a Teacher, when you start going to school, he/she mentor you in studies and also teach you each and every single thing what is needed to live like give/take respect, believe in your self, how to earn proficiency in our passion, last but not least how to manage your money / earn money.
After starting your professional life, like joining in any company, your superior take the job of mentoring, he/she mentor you in every thing what you need to do and what not to do.
Once you become senior, you start mentoring for your juniors / subordinates in your professional life, in your personal life you become mentor for your younger in your family / for your children / grand children.
So our life is very much mingled with a task called mentor / mentoring.
